A Day in the Life: My Last Day as a Master’s Student in Bristol

Hi everyone! Welcome to a little “one day with me” blog during one of the most emotional days of my master’s degree journey, my last day of classes as a marketing master’s student at the University of the West of England.
Morning: The Last "Normal" Routine
Woke up this morning knowing it was going to be one of the most memorable days of my master’s degree. It still feels unreal that I’m already attending my final classes of the year. The weather outside looked so nice today too, which somehow made everything feel even more emotional and nostalgic.

I started getting ready and doing my makeup while preparing myself for the day ahead. It honestly felt like a normal uni morning, but at the same time I kept thinking, “wait… this is actually it.”

Left my accommodation and started heading into the closest cafe before heading to uni as usual. I’ve probably walked this exact route hundreds of times throughout the year, but today it felt a little different knowing this routine is almost coming to an end.

Of course, I had to stop by Starbucks before class because it’s basically part of my uni routine at this point. Getting my favourite matcha drink before heading to campus felt comforting as it helped wake me up for my early morning class!

The Commute: Heading to Campus
On the way to UWE, Bristol! To get there, I usually take the M1, M2, or M3 from the city centre stop. Also a small tip for students or anyone living in Bristol city centre: always buy your tickets through the First Bus app ahead of time as it is usually cheaper than tapping your card on the bus!

Made it to campus right on time. The sunny weather made the whole campus look extra peaceful. Definitely one of those days that makes you want to slow down and appreciate everything a little more.

UWE Business School: Final Lecture
I headed to the business school building since I study marketing. It was surprisingly quiet today with fewer people around than usual. Somehow that made the “last day” feeling hit even harder.

And here it is… my final lecture: Website Design. Today was mainly about assessment guidance, final reminders, and asking questions before submission season officially begins. Everyone looked tired but relieved at the same time.

And just like that… My last class of the year is officially finished! Honestly, I can't believe how quickly this year went. Feels like I just started the course yesterday. It’s such a weird feeling knowing that I’m slowly stepping into the real working world now.

I walked past the library and canteen afterwards and realised this might genuinely be one of my last times here as a student :( So many assignments, study sessions, breakdowns, and memories happened inside these walls.

Heading Back to the City Centre
Time to head back into the city centre! You can also take the M1, M2, or M3 back, but you need to make sure you’re waiting at the correct stop because the buses going in the opposite direction stop right next to each other. Definitely learned that the hard way before!

Fuel & The Master's Reality Check
Stopped by my favourite restaurant, Sai Kung Cafe, for a quick lunch before continuing the day! Honestly one of my favourite comfort food restaurants in Bristol at this point.

Even though classes are finally done… the assignments definitely are not 😭
I sat down at a café called ‘Hem Coffee’ and continued working before I could properly relax. That’s probably the most realistic part of being a master’s student.

The Beginning of the End?
This year has honestly been such a memorable chapter of my life.
Of course it feels a little sad knowing my classes are over and this student routine is slowly coming to an end, but I’m also really grateful for everything that happened throughout this year! all the people I met, the memories, the stress, the laughs, and even the late-night assignment sessions.
But also… let’s not celebrate too early 😭. The dissertation is still waiting for me, so this isn’t the real ending yet!
